Kolkata Weather News: The effect of winter continues in West Bengal, but in the capital Kolkata, the temperature is currently being recorded slightly above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, like Monday, there was not much drop in the temperature of Kolkata on Tuesday also.

Temperature above normal in Kolkata

On Monday, Kolkata’s minimum temperature was recorded at 15.2 degrees Celsius, which was 0.7 degrees above normal. The temperature remained almost at the same level on Tuesday also. Till last few days, there was a drop in temperature due to fog, but now a slight increase has been seen in it.

However, the Meteorological Department has indicated that the temperature may fall again around Thursday i.e. the big day (Christmas). In such a situation, cold can once again show its effect. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), no weather warning has been issued for West Bengal at this time. The weather will remain dry in the state, which is normal in the winter season. There is no possibility of rain in any district of the state for the next one week. The sky is expected to be clear in all the districts.

Effect of cold is more in North Bengal

The Meteorological Department said that there will be no major change in the weather in the districts of North Bengal for the next one week. However, the effect of cold is being felt more there. A significant drop in temperature has been recorded in many districts of North Bengal including Malda during the last 24 hours.

There is a possibility of dense fog in many parts of the state throughout the week. Visibility may be reduced especially in the morning and late night. The Meteorological Department says that in the last few days of the year, the people of the state will be able to fully enjoy the harsh cold.
