West Bengal Weather Update: There was severe cold in West Bengal for the last one week. These days passed at the end of January, but winter did not go away completely even before the end of Magh. The cold wind on Monday morning showed that winter is not over yet.

According to the weather, the minimum temperature in South Bengal on Monday was 11°C. The mercury also dropped in Kalyani and Siuri. The temperature in Cooch Behar, in the plains of North Bengal, was 10.8°C, while in the hilly areas of Darjeeling it dropped to 4°C. The minimum temperature recorded in Kolkata (Alipore) was 15.1°C, which is 0.5°C below normal.

Kolkata’s minimum temperature on Saturday was 17 degrees

Let us tell you that on the first day of the week, the winter atmosphere returned to some extent in the state. The mercury has dropped slightly in South Bengal in the last two days. Last Saturday, the minimum temperature in Kolkata was 17 degrees. The same temperature decreased to 15.2 degrees Celsius yesterday and today it decreased to 15.1 degrees Celsius.

Moderate fog likely in North Bengal

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature again fell below normal. The maximum temperature is also below normal. However, as the days progress, the winter atmosphere is not becoming permanent. Still, the cold wind is telling that the winter of Magh is not going to go so easily. The heat is increasing as the day progresses. On the other hand, there is a warning of dense fog for Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar. There will be a possibility of light to moderate fog in the remaining districts of North Bengal in the morning, as it was today also.

The weather office says that the temperature in South Bengal will fluctuate in a similar manner. The mercury will fluctuate above and below normal. However, there is no chance of rain at the end of winter. At present there will be a cold atmosphere from evening to morning.
