Kolkata Weather Update: Cold is breaking its records every day. On Thursday, the minimum temperature in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, was 13.7 degrees Celsius. For the first time this year on Friday, the temperature in Kolkata dropped below 13 degrees. On Saturday, the mercury was at one place but was 1.6 degrees less than normal.

It will be cold in the last days

Alipur Meteorological Department has said that such cold will continue in the last days of the year. On this day the minimum temperature in the western districts of South Bengal was around 8 degrees. The forecast says that in the next 24 hours the minimum temperature in the western districts will be between 7 to 10 degrees.

The minimum temperature in coastal districts can be 11 to 14 degrees. The minimum temperature in the hilly areas including Darjeeling district will be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius. The forecast also says that fog will continue in the districts of North Bengal. The weather will remain dry for the next few days. There is no chance of rain. Due to the effect of western disturbance the temperature will rise from December 31. At the beginning of the new year the temperature may increase by 2-3 degrees.

Temperature of Kolkata for two to three days

Today the minimum temperature in Kolkata is 13.5 degrees. 0.3 degrees Celsius less than normal. Yesterday the minimum temperature had increased slightly to 14 degrees Celsius. Today the mercury fell again. According to meteorological department sources, the minimum temperature of Kolkata will be around 13 degrees for the next two to three days. The temperature may increase again in the new year.

At the same time, cold wave alert has been issued in 16 states including Delhi. The Meteorological Department has described the situation of fog, snowfall and cold wave as unbearable. Red alert has been issued for fog and cold in Uttar Pradesh.
