Big action by NCB, drug factory busted in Mysore, MD drug worth Rs 10 crore seized

Narcotics Control Bureau has achieved great success in the ongoing campaign against drugs in the country. NCB has busted a big inter-state drug smuggling syndicate and also busted a drug factory running in Mysore, Karnataka. In this raid, synthetic drugs, cash and luxury vehicles worth about Rs 10 crore have been seized.

On the basis of intelligence received by NCB, on 28 January 2026, a Toyota Fortuner SUV with Karnataka number was stopped in Palsana area of ​​Surat district of Gujarat. During the search of the vehicle, about 35 kg of drug named Mephedrone i.e. MD was recovered. This drug was being taken for supply in Rajasthan.

What came to light in the guerrilla action?

After this, NCB raided the house of Mahendra Kumar Vishnoi, resident of Dastan Residency, Palsana. Investigation revealed that he is the mastermind of this entire drug network. 1.8 kg opium, Rs 25.6 lakh cash and a large quantity of chemicals were recovered from his house. Surat Police also accompanied NCB in this raid.

When the investigation of this case was taken forward, a big revelation came to light in the investigation. It is revealed that Mahendra Kumar Vishnoi has been involved in smuggling of opium and smack earlier also. While going to jail in the NDPS case, he obtained information about the methods of making synthetic drugs, market demand and supply chain from other prisoners. After coming out on bail, he put this plan in motion.

NCB also busted a secret drug lab

NCB also busted a secret drug lab running in Hebbal Industrial Area of ​​Mysore, Karnataka. From outside this unit was being described as a factory for making cleaning chemicals, but inside a fully setup lab for making synthetic drugs was running. Modern equipment used for making drugs and more than 500 kg of chemicals were found in the lab. According to NCB, this factory was taken on rent in the name of a relative and co-accused of the mastermind. He has also been arrested. So far four people have been arrested in this case. All the accused are residents of Jalore district of Rajasthan.

In this case, NCB has seized drugs worth about Rs 10 crore, Rs 25.6 lakh in cash, Toyota Fortuner vehicle and a large quantity of chemicals. The drug factory unit has been sealed for forensic investigation. Investigation has also revealed that Mahendra Kumar Vishnoi is a habitual criminal. Three cases are already registered against him in Rajasthan and one in Gujarat.

Several consignments of drugs had been prepared and supplied

According to NCB, this drug lab was started in the year 2024 and since then many consignments had been prepared and supplied. In view of the increasing use of Mephedrone in the country, NCB has issued Red Flag Indicators (RFI) to all the states, so that such labs can be identified at the field level. NCB has identified two important chemicals 2-bromo-4-methylpropionone and mono methylamine (MMA), which are used in making MD drugs. The chemical industry has been asked to properly verify the buyers, so that these chemicals are not misused. At present the investigation of the case is going on.
