A response has also been given by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas in this regard, in which it has been clearly stated that people do not need to panic, the normal delivery time for domestic use will remain the same as before.
What did the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas say?
Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary (Marketing and Oil Refinery), Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said, our gas companies have purchased LNG cargo from new sources. Two LNG cargoes are coming to India. Right now, LPG is being supplied to the domestic sector. For non-domestic LPG, priority is being given to essential sectors like hospitals and educational institutions.
Minimum gap between LPG booking increased from 21 days to 25 days
He said, the committee is finalizing the plan in collaboration with the state authority and industry body. So that it can be ensured that the available LPG is distributed in a fair and transparent manner. The government has taken upon itself a major part of the increased prices to protect the customers. As a temporary measure of demand management, the minimum gap between LPG bookings has been increased from 21 days to 25 days.
‘No need to worry about LPG booking’
There is no need to panic for LPG booking from the Oil Ministry. The normal delivery cycle for home use will be 2.5 days only. The Oil Ministry says that due to government measures, LPG production has increased by 25 percent. Crude oil is being imported through routes other than the Strait of Hormuz; More supplies were available through routes that were blocked. Shipping Ministry official said that 28 Indian ships are present in the Persian Gulf.
Priority to domestic consumers in LPG supply
Due to the current situation and the ban on LPG imports, the supply of available gas is being carefully controlled. In this, priority is being given to domestic consumers. The demand from other areas is being reviewed by a joint committee of LPG executive directors of BPCL, IOC and HPCL. Allocation is being done on the basis of need. The government wishes to assure all citizens that every possible effort is being made to ensure uninterrupted movement of LPG imports and normal supplies are expected to be restored soon.

At the same time, the Union Home Secretary talked to the DGPs of all the states and the secretaries of the states regarding the current situation and said that they should ensure that strict action is taken against hoarding and black marketing by any means.
