iPhone Support End: If you are an iPhone user then there is big news for you. Apple has ended support for 2 iPhones, which means that if they get damaged, they will no longer be repaired by the company. Taking a big decision on March 17, Apple has included iPhone 5 and 8GB iPhone 4 from its vintage list to the obsolete list. Let us tell you that after a few years of launching, Apple includes its products first in the vintage and then in the obsolete list.
When were these iPhones launched?
The 8GB iPhone 4 was launched in 2011 and was discontinued in 2013. Whereas iPhone 5 was brought in 2012. It was discontinued in 2013 after the arrival of iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. After being discontinued in America, both these iPhones were being sold as affordable iPhones in emerging markets.
What does vintage list mean?
Apple includes those products whose sales have been discontinued for 5 years in the vintage list. If a product is included in the vintage list, Apple does not guarantee to repair it. This means that you can take the vintage product to Apple’s authorized service center for repair, but there will be no guarantee that it will be repaired there. It will be repaired only if parts are available at the service center.
What does obsolete mean?
While products go into the vintage list after 5 years of being sold, they are included in the obsolete list after 7 years of being sold. However, sometimes this timeline is extended. Being included in the obsolete list means that Apple has stopped making repair parts for those products and now they cannot be repaired at Apple’s service center.
