The commotion has increased in West Bengal before the assembly elections. Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose has resigned. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed surprise at the resignation of West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee confirmed that after Bose’s resignation, Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi will take additional charge of the Governor of West Bengal.

Mamata Banerjee reacted to Bose’s resignation

Posting on social media platform X, he wrote, I am shocked and extremely worried by the news of the sudden resignation of West Bengal Governor Bose. I don’t know the reason for his resignation. However, given the current circumstances, I would not be surprised if on the eve of the upcoming state assembly elections, pressure is put on the Governor by the Union Home Minister to serve some political interests.

He said, ‘The Union Home Minister has informed me that R.N. Ravi is being appointed the Governor of West Bengal. Mamta Banerjee said, he (Amit Shah) did not consult me ​​in this regard as per the established tradition. Such steps weaken the spirit of the Constitution of India and attack the foundation of our federal structure. The Center should respect the principles of cooperative federalism and avoid taking such unilateral decisions which hurt democratic traditions and the dignity of states.

Became Governor of West Bengal in November 2022

Dr. CV Anand Bose was appointed the Governor of West Bengal on 17 November 2022. Before him, the then Governor of Manipur, L.A. Ganesan was handling the work of the Governor of West Bengal as additional charge. Bose was made the Governor of West Bengal when the then Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected the Vice President of India.

Who is CV Anand Bose?

CV Anand Bose is a 1977 batch IAS officer, he hails from Kottayam district of Kerala. He is also a writer and has published about 40 books in English, Malayalam and Hindi. He has been awarded the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship. Bose was the chairman of the working group that prepared the development agenda for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government. His concept of “affordable housing for all” was adopted by the Modi government.
