BJP and NDA MLAs have staked claim to form government in Manipur on Wednesday. On this occasion, a meeting was held with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla under the leadership of National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and North East in-charge Sambit Patra. During this, party leader Yumnam Khemchand Singh and other MLAs were also present. Yumnam Khemchand Singh will be the new Chief Minister of Manipur. With this, the President’s rule imposed in the state for one year has been removed. The Center has issued instructions.

President’s rule was imposed in Manipur due to the unrest that had been going on for the last one year. Now there are hopes of restoring peace there with the formation of an elected government. There are 60 members in Manipur Assembly. His tenure is till 2027. President’s rule was imposed in Manipur on 13 February last year. During that time, N Biren Singh, who was the Chief Minister, had to resign due to caste violence in the state. President’s rule was imposed in the state just four days after his resignation.

He will be made Deputy Chief Minister, Biren Singh had resigned from the post of CM.
The biggest thing in this government is Nemcha Kipgen, who has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister. She comes from the Kuki community. She is being appointed to this post because she will be able to take important steps towards reducing caste tension. Before this, a meeting of the legislature party was held. In this, Khemchand Singh was chosen as the leader. He is the frontrunner in the race for the post of CM. This entire balance is being considered an important step to stop caste violence.

Caste violence started in Manipur in the year 2023. Then Chief Minister Biren Singh appeared politically weak. This violence started there between the Meitei and Kuki communities. Then Biren Singh was accused of bias. Demand for his resignation had started. Its echo was beginning to be heard inside the party also. As the violence increased, the pressure on Biren Singh to resign from the post was increasing.
