BMC Election Results 2026: On which seats will there be a big contest in the BMC elections? Know who, where and how strong

The results of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Elections 2026 are going to come on Friday (January 16, 2026). Meanwhile, direct competition can be seen in many areas between the two factions of Shiv Sena, Bharatiya Janata Party, Congress, MNS, Nationalist Congress, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi and other parties. The victory margin on many seats is likely to be very small, due to which the election atmosphere has become quite heated.

From wards 200 to 206 of Naigaon division, a direct contest is being seen between Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray faction) and BJP. In Ward 200, there is a contest between Urmila Panchal of Shiv Sena, Sandeep Deshpande of BJP and Suresh Kale of Congress. In Ward 201, Rekha Kamble of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha), Supriya More of Shinde group and Pallavi Mungekar of Congress are face to face. Shiv Sena’s Shraddha Jadhav, BJP’s Parth Bawkar and Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s Pramod Jadhav are contesting in Ward 202. In Ward 203, there is a direct contest between Shiv Sena’s Shraddha Pednekar and Shinde faction’s Samidha Bhalekar. In Ward 204, Shiv Sena’s Omkar Tawde, Shinde faction’s Anil Kokil and Congress’s Narendra Avadhoot are in the fray. In Ward 205, there is a triangular contest between MNS’s Supriya Dalvi, BJP’s Varsha Shinde and Congress’s Apoorva Salistekar. In Ward 206, there is a multi-cornered contest between Sachin Padwal of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha), Sanjay Ambole of Shinde faction, Ramvachan Murai of Nationalist Congress and Sunil Yadav of Congress.

Tough competition on many seats from Ward 207 to 213

Triangular and all-round contest is being seen on many seats from Ward 207 to 213 of Byculla division. BJP’s Rohidas Lokhande, MNS’s Shalaka Hariyan and All India Sena’s Yogita Gawli are contesting in Ward 207. In Ward 208, there is a tough contest between Ramakant Rahate of Shiv Sena (Ubatha), Vijay Lipare of Shinde faction and Mangesh Bansod of Nationalist Congress.

In Ward 209, Yamini Jadhav of Shinde faction, Haseena Mahimkar of MNS and Rafia Damodi of Congress are in the fray. In Ward 210, there is a contest between Sonam Jamsutkar of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha), Santosh Rane of BJP and Anil Waje of Congress. In Ward 211, Sufiyan Ansari of Nationalist Congress (Sharad Pawar faction), Shakeel Ansari of BJP and Waqar Khan of Congress are face to face. In Ward 212, MNS’s Shravani Haldankar, All India Sena’s Geeta Gawli and Congress’s Nazia Siddiqui are contesting. In Ward 213, there is a fight between Shraddha Surve of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha), Naseema Juneja of Congress and Asha Mamedi of Shinde faction.

Many famous faces from Ward 223 to 227

From Ward 223 to 227, the reputation of many big and famous faces is at stake. In Ward 223, MNS’s Prashant Gandhi, Congress’s Gyanraj Nikam and Shinde faction’s Priya Patil are in the fray. In Ward 224, there is a contest between Sania Shah of Nationalist Congress (Sharad Pawar faction), Sabik Merchant of Congress and Ruchi Wadkar of Shiv Sena. Harshita Narvekar of BJP, Sujata Sanap of Shinde group and Ajinkya Dhatrak of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha) are contesting in Ward 225. In Ward 226, BJP’s Makarand Narvekar is facing opposition candidate Tejal Pawar. In Ward 227, there is a triangular contest between BJP’s Gauri Shivalkar-Narvekar, Shiv Sena’s (Ubatha) Rehna Shaikh and Samajwadi Party’s Shabana Ansari.

Direct war between the two factions of Shiv Sena

A direct political war is being seen between the two factions of Shiv Sena in Worli area. Hemangi Varalikar and Pralhad Varalikar are face to face in Ward 193. There is a contest between Nishikant Shinde and Samadhan Sarvankar in Ward 194. In Ward 195, Vijay Bhange is facing BJP’s Rajesh Kangane. There is a contest between Padmaja Chemburkar and Sonali Sawant in Ward 196. There is a direct conflict between MNS and Shinde faction in Ward 197. Aboli Khadye and Vandana Gawali are face to face in Ward 198. There is a tough contest between Kishori Pednekar and Rupali Kusale in Ward 199.

Highest number of candidates

The electoral grounds from Ward 123 to 133 of Ghatkopar division seem to be the most crowded. In these wards, candidates from many parties including BJP, both factions of Shiv Sena, Congress, Nationalist Congress, MNS, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, AIMIM, BSP and AAP are in the fray. Especially in Ward 125 and 133, the number of candidates is said to be the highest, due to which the contest has become very interesting.
