Budget 2026 is going to be historic this time in many ways. The first reason is that the Union Budget will be presented on Sunday, 1 February 2026 and the stock market will also be open on the same day. This is only the second time in the history of independent India that the stock market will be open for trading on Sunday. Earlier this had happened on 28 February 1999, when the budget was presented during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
