Prime Minister Narendra Modi digitally launched projects worth Rs 4,570 crore in Kokrajhar district of the state ahead of the Assam Assembly elections. During this, he fiercely targeted Congress. PM Modi said that Congress endangered national security by handing over the land of indigenous people to infiltrators. He said that Congress should be taught a lesson in the upcoming elections and a clear message should be given that there is no place for infiltrators.
Addressing the rally, PM Modi said, ‘When you drove out Congress from both the country and Assam and gave opportunity to BJP-NDA, we started honest efforts. Where Congress, for its selfish politics, created divisions among different communities, BJP worked for permanent peace. Bodo peace agreement was signed with this thinking in mind.
He said, ‘For the first time in this agreement, all the major organizations and groups were brought together. Congress kept many generations of Bodoland entangled in false dreams. The Congress governments sitting in Delhi made paper agreements only for show. This entire region including Kokrajhar had suffered a lot and lost a lot in the last decades. We have seen those difficult times when only the echo of bombs and guns could be heard in these hills, but today this picture is changing. Today Bodoland has embarked on the path of peace and development. Today Assam is writing a new chapter of peace and development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Congress is a shop of false promises and gives 4 super lies as a gift with one false promise. Because Congress has no intention of fulfilling those promises. There is the model of BJP-NDA in front of you. Whatever our double engine government said, it has made an honest effort to make it come true. The ‘double engine’ government is continuously working for the preservation of Assam’s heritage and rapid development.
