Central government handed over big responsibility to IPS officer of Bihar Vinay Kumar, made IG of NIA

The Central Government has entrusted a big responsibility to Bihar cadre IPS officer Vinay Kumar. Vinay Kumar, a 2004 batch IPS officer who held the post of IG (Operations) in the Special Task Force in Bihar Police, has been made the Inspector General (IG) of the National Investigation Agency (NIA). An order has been issued to debar him for appointment on central deputation from the date of relinquishing charge of his present post.

The Home Department of Bihar Government on Tuesday (January 6, 2026) issued a notification regarding demarcating IPS Vinay Kumar for central deputation and handed over his services to the Union Home Ministry.
