Ministry’s eye on all reasons for increase in air fares- Naidu
The Union Minister said, ‘IndiGo is a major airline and the curtailment of its operations has led to huge disruption and cancellation of flights. So generally the flip side of this would be an increase in air fares. This is why we have to keep air fares reasonable and affordable. That’s why we have fixed the fare limit.
He said the increase in airfares may also be due to other reasons, which the ministry keeps a close watch on and is in constant dialogue with stakeholders to keep them under control.
