The Central Government has taken a big decision amidst the uproar over the Aravalli mountain range. The Center has given instructions to ban new mining leases in Aravalli. A letter has been written by the Ministry of Forest and Environment to the Chief Secretaries of Rajasthan, Haryana and Gujarat, according to which, no new mining lease should be given until new guidelines are prepared.
