Seeing the trailer of this film, it seemed that it would be a story like ‘Kantara’ but it turned out to be a pirated copy of the duplicate Kantara. Neither this film could be made, nor a documentary could be made, nor anything else. After watching this film, I could not understand whether Charak was to be shown in it, male sacrifice was to be shown, murder mystery was to be shown or the maker himself was confused as to what he wanted to show.
Story- The story of this film tells or claims to tell about Charak Utsav. This thousand years old tradition is celebrated in many places including Bengal, Bihar, Assam. During this festival, some people talk about sacrificing, superstition is also spread. During this time, two children go missing and then the entire film is spent trying to find out where those children have gone. Nothing is told about Charak which was considered to be the main story of the film.
How is the movie- This is a completely useless film, it will not be possible to watch the film completely. I don’t understand what the film wants to say. It neither looks like a film, nor a documentary, nor a murder mystery. It seems the maker himself is confused. Neither the production value of the film nor the treatment seems great. The film seems so boring at many places that you will want to leave the theatre. You think that this film will tell us about another tradition like ‘Kataanra’ but you keep thinking like this. The film doesn’t hook you anywhere, there is a twist in the end but that too is not such that you should watch this film just for that. Overall this film is disappointing and very disappointing.
Acting- Anjali Patil has done a decent job. Sahidur Rahman’s work is also good. The work of Subrata Dutta, Shashi Bhushan and Navneesh Neel is also fine. There is no actor who surprises you. Everyone has done their work just fine.
Writing and Direction – Sanjay Halder and Farooq Malik have written the film, Shiladitya Maulik has directed the film, no one has any talent in writing and direction, ‘Kerala Story’ director Sudipto Sen has produced the film and that is why there is some discussion about the film but this film is disappointing.
