Chennai-Kolkata need this player at any cost! 30 crores will also fall short; There may be chaos in the auction

The IPL 2026 auction will be held tomorrow in Abu Dhabi and the auction will start at 2:30 pm. Bidding will be held on a total of 350 players, which will include many big names. Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders are the two teams who will be entering the auction with the biggest purse. There is a vacancy in both of their squads, which can be filled by an Australian all-rounder.

Here we are talking about Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. Recently, Cameron Green was sold for Rs 30.50 crore in the mock auction organized by Star Sports. If this happens in the real auction tomorrow, then Green will become the most expensive player in IPL history.

Chennai Super Kings are left with Rs 43.40 crore, while Kolkata Knight Riders are left with Rs 64.30 crore. Cameron Green is such a player who can fulfill the needs of both Chennai and Kolkata, hence the bid for him can go up to Rs 30 crores.

Why does CSK want Cameron Green?

CSK has traded 2 players in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran for Sanju Samson. Fast bowling all-rounder Shivam Dubey is present in the Chennai team, but he has not bowled much in his IPL career. With the departure of Jadeja and Curran, the team is in dire need of a world class all-rounder, who can bat in the middle order and also play the role of all-rounder. In such a situation, Chennai will not refrain from bidding higher on Green.

Why does KKR want Cameron Green?

After the retirement of Andre Russell, the place of a foreign all-rounder has become vacant in the KKR squad. Green can prove to be an ideal replacement for Russell. Besides, Green can also solve KKR’s batting problems by coming in to bat from number-3 to number-5. He can also play the role of a finisher like Russell.
