Claude Vs Grok: Artificial Intelligence is no longer limited to just answering questions but it is also rapidly becoming adept at writing code. In recent times, the discussion has intensified whether the era of manual coding by humans is about to end. Even Ryan Dahl, the creator of NodeJS, has hinted that the future of traditional coding may change. There is currently a debate going on on the internet as to who does better coding, Anthropic’s Claude Code or xAI’s Grok Code. But Elon Musk believes that this comparison will not matter for long. According to him, very soon coding will become a common and universally accessible service.
Coding will become a common product
In response to a post on social media platform X, Musk said that coding will become a generic product within this year. His point was that in the coming time, AI tools will become so capable that the question of which model is better will become meaningless.
Anthropic, on the other hand, previously claimed that its Claude Opus 4.6 model generated a C-compiler on its own in just two weeks. This achievement is considered big because making a C-compiler is a technically very complex task.
there will be very few mistakes
Musk also said in another post that Grok Code will become much better in the coming months and it is possible that it may even surpass Claude Code. However, he also added that the difference between the two would be so small that it would be difficult to identify which model has been used.
He believes that leading AI coding models will make so few mistakes that it will be almost impossible to make comparisons between them. This means that coding will become a commodity in a way, just as self-driving technology became better and more reliable over time.
There will be no need to write code
This is not the first time Musk has made a big statement on the future of coding. Even before this he had said that by the end of the year the situation could be such that humans would not need to write code themselves. AI will directly generate the required binaries for the machine, which can also reduce the role of traditional compilers.
Increasing role of AI in industry
There are already signs of the increasing role of AI in the tech industry. Spotify recently admitted that AI is playing an important role in many of its coding tasks. Dario Amodei has also admitted that in the future his company may not need as many software engineers as it does today.
