Senior Karnataka Congress leader Shamanuru Shivashankarappa passed away on Sunday (December 14). Expressing grief over his demise, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiv Kumar has remembered him. Shivashankarappa was formerly a minister and currently an MLA. He has also been the National President of All India Veerashaiva Lingayat Mahasabha.
DK Shivakumar, while sharing a post on Shivashankarappa, who dedicated his life to social service, made special contributions in the field of education. Took his last breath at the age of 94
Shamanuru Shivashankarappa, born on June 16, 1931, breathed his last in a private hospital on Sunday. He was said to be suffering from diseases related to old age. His age was 94 years. He was the MLA from Davanagere South Assembly seat. His treatment was going on for some time. He has three sons. One of them is Karnataka’s Mines, Geology and Horticulture Minister S.S. Mallikarjuna and four daughters. His daughter-in-law Prabha Mallikarjuna is MP from Davangere. He has been the treasurer of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for many decades. He was also an educationist. He established many educational institutions. He was also an industrialist.
