Congress has put all its strength into preparations for the Assam Assembly elections. A big roadmap for Assam elections was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi. Many senior leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Assam Senior Observer Bhupesh Baghel, DK Shivkumar, General Secretary in-charge Jitendra Singh, State President Gaurav Gogoi were present in this important meeting.

According to party sources, elections in Assam will be fought under the leadership of Gaurav Gogoi. Rahul Gandhi will visit Assam in the month of February. Workers’ conferences will be organized in 6 zones of Assam from 20th. 6 war rooms will be created in the entire state, which will be directly connected to the Delhi control room.

Rahul Gandhi’s strict message in the meeting
In the meeting, Rahul Gandhi gave clear instructions to the leaders that the corruption of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma should be made public. He said that the most corrupt Chief Minister of the country is Himanta Biswa Sarma and the government has to be formed in Assam at any cost.

Rahul Gandhi also said that the issue of the Assam government giving away tribal land to industrialists should be raised strongly and it should be made a strong narrative that by removing a tribal Chief Minister, the rights of the tribals were snatched away. Rahul called upon all the leaders to come together on the ground.

What did Bhupesh Baghel tell ABP News?

Assam’s senior observer Bhupesh Baghel said in an exclusive conversation with ABP News that a strategic meeting has been held with the party high command. He told that the first press conference will be held in Guwahati on 20th, while meetings with leaders and workers across the state will start from 21st. Bhupesh Baghel also said that Priyanka Gandhi is the chairperson of the screening committee of Assam and her leadership will strengthen the organization. Making a direct attack on the Assam government, he said that this government is the most corrupt government ever and the party will soon make its strategy public.

Gaurav Gogoi’s big statement

While talking to ABP NEWS, Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi made it clear that Congress will contest the elections alone in Assam and there will be no alliance with Badruddin Ajmal. Gogoi said that a detailed report regarding the ground situation in Assam has been submitted to the high command. Attacking Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, he said that earlier he used to do corruption while being in Congress and now he is doing the same thing while being in BJP. This time Congress will not allow his dream to be fulfilled. He told that the election campaign will formally start from January 20.
