Congress’s ‘camp politics’ before results in Telangana, counting continues in 7 corporations and 116 municipalities

Counting of votes for 7 corporations and 116 municipalities has started in Telangana today (Friday) from 8 am, but the most surprising news is that the ruling Congress has started ‘Camp Politics’ even before the results are announced. The Election Commission has imposed Section 144 on all the counting centers amid tight security arrangements, so that peace is maintained.

How many rounds will be counted?
The counting process started with the counting of postal ballot papers. After this the counting of EVM machines was started. According to the state election officials, there will be 14 to 22 rounds of counting for each ward, after which the situation is expected to be clear by afternoon. It is believed that Congress is afraid that opposition parties, especially BRS or BJP, might attract their leaders.

There was camp culture even during BRS rule.
This ‘camp culture’ is becoming an integral part of Telangana politics. Earlier, the same thing was seen during BRS rule and now after the change in power, Congress is also following the same path. This step reflects the distrust that the party has on its own leaders and workers. In recent times, there has been a lot of excitement regarding local body elections in Telangana.

These are the first major local elections after the victory of Congress in the assembly elections, which both the parties are considering as a ‘prestige issue’ to strengthen their hold. Opposition parties are looking for an opportunity to corner Congress on this ‘camp politics’ and are saying that this clearly shows that there is an atmosphere of internal strife and fear in the party.

At present, security forces have maintained strict vigil in the entire state. The officials have clearly said that any unwanted element or provocative activity will not be tolerated during the counting. When the results will be known in the next few hours, it will be decided whether this ‘camp strategy’ of Congress can bring it success, or whether the opposition gets a chance to earn political bread.
