In the last 4 years, YouTube has paid more than Rs 100 billion to creators, artists and media companies for their content. This trend will continue this year also. In 2026, YouTube is planning to invest heavily in different ways of earning for creators, from shopping and brand deals to fan funding features like Jewel and gifts. Currently, to buy a linked product, users have to go to other platforms, but soon users will be able to buy a product while staying on YouTube itself.
Emphasis will be on AI
YouTube says that more than 1 million channels used its AI creation tools in December. This year also users will be able to create shorts and games etc. with the help of AI. Besides, the company will also try to remove useless content created with the help of AI from its platform. Users can also see many new AI features on YouTube this year.
Safety of children and teens will become stronger
This year, YouTube wants to make its platform stronger for children and teen users and it has already started. Recently YouTube has brought a new parental control, in which parents can set the time for their children to watch shorts.
