Cochin Shipyard has informed after the stock market closed on Monday that the company has received a big order from the Defense Ministry. Cochin Shipyard Limited has been declared the lowest (L1) bidder in a major defense tender of the Ministry of Defense to build five Next Generation Survey Vessels (NGSVs) for the Indian Navy, it said in an exchange filing. This announcement was made after a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense in New Delhi on 16 February 2026. The estimated total value of the order is approximately Rs 5000 crore.
