Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, during his visit to Berlin on Monday (December 22, 2025), has given a big statement regarding democracy, vote theft and fairness of elections in India. Rahul Gandhi said that democracy is under attack in India. BJP has created such an environment in India that the institutions are not doing their work. He said that Congress did not misuse them, but BJP uses them to increase political power.
While addressing the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also raised serious questions regarding the fairness of elections in India. He said, ‘We have won elections in Telangana and Himachal Pradesh. We have repeatedly raised the issue of fairness of elections in India. I have clearly shown in the press conference that we had won the Haryana elections and the elections in Maharashtra were not fair. The institutions of our country are being attacked on a large scale.

He alleged that the institutional structure of the country is under complete attack. He said that we asked questions directly to the Election Commission, the case of a Brazilian woman casting her vote in Haryana came to light, but no answer was received. He said, ‘Brazilian women are voting in Haryana. His name appears 22 times in the voter list of Haryana. A woman votes 200 times at one booth. The Election Commission does not answer these questions. We fundamentally feel that there is a problem with India’s electoral system.

He said that our institutional structure has been completely captured. Our intelligence agencies, CBI, ED are being used as weapons. Most of the cases of CBI and ED are against the opponents of BJP. If you are a big businessman and try to support Congress, you will get threats and investigating agencies will arrive.
He said that we have to find a way. We will face it. We will create a system of opposition resistance that will be successful, but we are not fighting the BJP but also the BJP’s capture of Indian institutions.
