He was given leave from 22 to 28 February but as the wound was not completely healed, he sought extension of leave from the Railway Health Unit as per the prescribed procedure.

Rajesh Meena first contacted the Crew Controller and then Chief Crew Controller (CCC) Ratan Kumar. The union alleges that Meena also showed her medical documents, lab reports and dressing, but she was not given leave. Finally, out of compulsion, Meena took off her clothes to show her wounds. Later, after the intervention of a union leader, he got leave for rest.

Regarding this matter, AILRSA General Secretary KC James said that it is very shameful that a loco pilot had to go to this extent to get medical leave. He has demanded strict action against the officer related to the railway administration. After the matter came to light, there is anger among the railway employees and demands are being raised to fix accountability from the administration.
