MD Samsuzzaman, company commander of RAB-14 in Mymensingh, told Bangladeshi newspaper ‘The Daily Star’ that no evidence was found to show that the deceased had written anything on Facebook that might hurt religious sentiments. He also said that neither the local people nor the garment factory workers could point out any such activity.
Company commander Samsuzzaman told The Daily Star, “Now everyone is saying that they themselves did not hear Deepu say anything like this. No one was found who claimed that they themselves heard or saw anything hurting the religion. When the situation worsened, they were forcefully thrown out of the factory to save the factory.”
Police detained many people
The officer said that after the video went viral, initially two people were detained in connection with the incident and later on the basis of interrogation, five more people were detained. Apart from this, Mymensingh ASP Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun said that the police have detained three more people and are interrogating them.
