Sini Shetty got the lead role
Dharma Productions’ film ‘Dostana 2’ has now got its female lead. According to Variety India report, former Miss India World Sini Shetty has been finalized for the lead role in the romantic comedy alongside Lakshya and Vikrant Massey. Sini won the Miss India World crown in 2022. She is a resident of Mumbai and belongs to Karnataka.
Sini’s background and acting dream
Sini has graduated in Accounting and Finance and has also taken training in Bharatnatyam. Acting was her long time dream and now she is going to debut in Bollywood with the big banner of Dharma Productions. The makers have chosen Sini after considering three names. The interesting thing is that Priyanka Chopra was the Miss India World winner in the first ‘Dostana’ and now a beauty queen has got the lead role in the sequel too.
Film shooting and changes
In the year 2019, the shooting of ‘Dostana 2’ started with Kartik Aryan, Lakshya and Jhanvi Kapoor. Its shooting was stopped after 20 days of shooting. Now Lakshya remains in the lead, Vikrant Massey will replace Karthik and Sini Shetty will replace Jhanvi. The shooting is going to start in the third quarter of this year. Sini has also signed a small budget thriller film but its details have not been revealed yet.
Sequel of ‘Dostana’
‘Dostana 2’ is the sequel to the 2008 film ‘Dostana’. Earlier the film was directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Karan Johar under the banner of Dharma Productions. Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Priyanka Chopra were in the lead roles in ‘Dostana’.
