‘Earlier 6-7 films were made in the year, now 80 are made’, Sargun Mehta reacted on the boom of Punjabi industry.

Punjabi industry is now on boom. Movies and music videos are very much liked. Now films are also making waves at the box office. Gippy Growal’s 2012 Carry On Jatta became the first film to earn Rs 100 crore. Now recently actress Sargun Mehta has talked about Pambaji industry.

‘Boom in Punjabi Industry’- Sargun Mehta

Speaking to Galatta Plus, Sargun Mehta said, ‘My first Punjabi film was released in August 2015 and it was a blockbuster. After this I did not look back. At that time, for the next 2-3 years only 7-10 films were made in the industry every year. At that time people were like why do we make so few films? After this the industry saw a boom. Now 70-80 films are made every year. Earlier the budget of films used to be 6-7 crores and now the budget is 25-30 crores. There has been a boom at the box office. everything goes well. Punjabi industry is searching for itself.

Apart from this he said, ‘Punjabi film industry found such formulas which worked well. Now reached the peak. That’s why everyone went towards this formula. The risk taking ability of the audience and producers is very low. We have come into formula mode, but I tell my husband Ravi Dubey that maybe we should take the risk.

Sargun reacted about 100 crore film
Sargun further said, ‘When Gippy Grewal’s ‘Carry on Jatta’ earned Rs 100 crore for the first time, everyone was like we have done it. I was not a part of that film but I think I was more excited than him. I kept calling him continuously and asking whether he had reached the Rs 100 crore mark. Once the barrier is crossed, we can do this again and again.

It is known that recently there were rumors of Sargun Mehta’s pregnancy. The actress had called these reports wrong.
