Former independent MLA from Behror, Rajasthan, Baljeet Yadav was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday night (February 3, 2026) from Shahjahanpur Toll on Delhi-Jaipur Highway. After his arrest, the former MLA was presented in the court today (February 4, 2026). ED officials have demanded remand of Baljeet Yadav from the court. At the same time, Baljeet Yadav’s lawyer opposed this, saying that if Baljeet Yadav had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), then this action would not have been taken against him.
Baljeet Yadav said while talking to the media that he is being implicated in a conspiracy. He claimed that Behror MLA Jaswant Yadav wants to make his son an MLA, hence action has been taken against him.
Interrogation done in Jaipur after detention
Former MLA Baljeet Yadav is accused of misuse and embezzlement of more than Rs 3 crore from the Local Area Development Fund (MLA LAD Fund). In such a situation, ED has taken this action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
ED had detained former MLA Baljeet Yadav from Shahjahanpur Toll Plaza in Alwar (near NHAI office on Delhi-Jaipur Highway) on Tuesday (February 3, 2026) night. After this, he was brought to the ED office in Jaipur for questioning. Where after interrogation the officials arrested Baljeet Yadav.
In this case, ED had raided the premises of Baljeet Yadav.
According to ED sources, in January, a search operation was conducted at a total of 10 locations of Baljeet Yadav in Jaipur, Dausa and Behror. These included 8 locations in Jaipur and one each in Dausa and Behror. During the search many important documents and evidence were recovered, on the basis of which arrests were made.
