An encounter took place between Indian security forces and terrorists on Monday (December 15, 2025) in Ramnagar in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir. Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Jammu Range confirmed that a joint team of Indian Army and CRPF along with Special Operation Group (SOG) is engaged in this operation.
According to sources, after suspicious activity was seen, the security forces opened fire, after which the encounter started.

Jammu Range IGP Bhim Sen Tuti shared a post on social media platform X confirming the incident. He said in his post, ‘On the basis of accurate input received from Jammu and Kashmir Police, contact has been established with terrorists in Suan village of Majalta area of Udhampur.’

He further said, ‘In this operation, a joint team of Indian Army and CRPF along with Special Operation Group (SOG) is engaged in action. Search operation is going on in the area.
Problems being faced in search operation – IGP Jammu
IGP Jammu Range Bhim Sen Tuti said in another post, ‘A very small team of SOG had an encounter with the terrorists. Search operations in the forest are facing difficulties due to darkness and inaccessible, dangerous terrain.

According to sources, a search operation is being conducted by the security forces in the forests of Basantgarh in Udhampur, Jammu. Officials said that at around 6 pm on Monday (December 15, 2025), gunshots were heard from the besieged Suan village, after which security forces launched a search operation to nab the hiding terrorists. He further said that additional contingents of security forces have been sent to the area to further strengthen the cordon and bring the terrorists under control.
