A heart-wrenching accident has come to light in Ashwapuram mandal of Bhadradri Kotha Gudam district on Friday (January 2, 2026). The bus of a private engineering college went out of control and overturned into a deep ditch on the roadside, in which about 50 students were trapped in a life-threatening situation. The severity of the accident was such that the bus was completely damaged, causing chaos on the spot.
According to the information, this accident happened in Mondikunta forest area, when the bus was going from Manuguru to Paloncha. Students of KLR Engineering College, Paloncha were traveling in the bus. Suddenly the driver lost control, after which the speeding bus went off the road and fell into a nearby ditch.
There was screaming inside the bus
There was screaming inside the bus after it fell into the ditch. Many students suffered bruises and bleeding injuries, while a female student remains in critical condition. It is being told that when the bus overturned, this student got stuck badly between the seats, due to which one of her arms was broken.
Rescue operation started
Immediately after the accident, passersby and local people showed bravery and started the rescue operation. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and with the help of local people, the injured students were taken out of the bus. All the injured were first sent to the Government Regional Hospital, Bhadrachalam for first aid. However, the seriously injured student has been referred to Khammam for better treatment.
Police started investigating the case
At present, the police has started investigating the matter. It is not yet clear why the bus driver lost control. Whether it was a mechanical fault or the bad condition of the road, it will be revealed only after the police report. After the incident, there is deep anger and concern among the college administration and the parents of the students.
