National Bureau Chief of ABP News Ashish Singh had a special conversation with Khamenei’s representative in India, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Ilahi. During this, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Ilahi told that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his sons lived a very simple life. Khamenei’s personal life was very ordinary. He has four sons. The surprising thing is that none of them have their own house and they live in a rented house. Khamenei did not take any salary from the government during his life and used small gifts received from friends for his needs.
Mujtaba did not have money to buy clothes
Referring to an incident, the representative in India, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi, said that Khamenei’s second elder son, Mujtaba Khamenei, had very little money even to buy clothes during the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca. According to him, this example was given to show that his family also lives a simple life.
Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Ilahi said that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei always emphasized on living life like common people. According to him, several times security officials had suggested him to stay in a safe bunker or some secret place, but he did not accept it. He said that if such security arrangements cannot be made for about 9 crore people of the country, then he does not want to get any special facility for himself.
Process of selection of new Supreme Leader
Describing the process of selecting the new Supreme Leader, Dr. Abdul Majeed Hakim Elahi said that according to the Constitution of Iran, if the Supreme Leader is unable to hold his post for some reason, then a council of three people temporarily takes over the responsibility. It consists of the President, the Chief of the Supreme Court and a jurist from the Guardian Council. After this, the permanent Supreme Leader is elected by the Assembly of Experts.
This council consists of 88 members and its members are elected by the public through elections. This council discusses the name of the new Supreme Leader and takes the decision through voting.
