A retired Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), who had come to watch the first day show of Chiranjeevi’s new film ‘Man Shankar Varaprasad’, died inside the cinema hall. This sad news has deeply shocked not only his family but also the other fans present there.
Former ASI had come to watch the morning show
On Monday morning, the atmosphere at Arjun Theater in Kukatpally, Hyderabad was like a festival. It was the first day (January 12, 2026) of Megastar Chiranjeevi’s much awaited film ‘Man Shankar Varaprasad’. Retired ASI Anand Kumar (about 50 years) of 12th Battalion had also come to watch the 11:30 am morning show of his favorite actor’s film. It is being told that for some time after the start of the film, he was very excited and was enjoying the film like other fans.

In the middle of the film, when the audience was engrossed in the acting of the megastar on the screen, suddenly Anand Kumar died on his seat. Initially the people sitting nearby thought that perhaps he had become emotional or had suddenly fallen asleep, but when there was no movement in the body, the theater staff was informed. He was immediately taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The primary estimate of doctors is that he died due to cardiac arrest.
Police captured CCTV footage
As soon as the information about such sudden death of a former police officer was received, Kukatpally police reached the spot. Police have taken CCTV footage of the time of the incident in their possession and have started investigating the matter. According to the police, ‘Prima facie it seems to be a case of cardiac arrest, but the exact cause of death will be known only after the post mortem report comes.’ At present the police have registered it as death under suspicious circumstances.
