Rajasthan Royals New Owner: Rajasthan Royals team, the champion of the first season of the Indian Premier League, might have got a new owner before IPL 2026. Before that there is news that RR franchise is interested in adding Gautam Gambhir to its fold. According to Dainik Jagran, the Rajasthan team wants to include Gautam Gambhir as partner, mentor and CEO. Let us tell you that Gautam Gambhir is currently the head coach of the Indian national cricket team.
According to Dainik Jagran, one of the new owners of Rajasthan Royals has sent a proposal to Gautam Gambhir regarding the above posts. Since Gambhir is currently serving the Indian cricket team as the head coach, hence he cannot join the Rajasthan Royals team while holding this post.
According to the same report, sources related to Gautam Gambhir said that Gambhir has no intention of leaving the post of coach of the Indian team. Also, his aim is to hoist the Indian flag in the 2026 T20 World Cup and 2027 ODI World Cup. Let us tell you that Gambhir will remain the coach of the Indian team till the 2027 ODI World Cup. After that, the 2028 Olympic Games are also to be held in Los Angeles. Since Team India’s record under Gambhir in T20 has been excellent, it will be interesting to see whether Gambhir’s tenure is extended till Olympics 2028 or not.
KKR has been made champion
In 2012 and 2014, Gautam Gambhir made Kolkata Knight Riders the champion as captain. Apart from this, when KKR became IPL champion for the third time in 2024, Gautam Gambhir used to be the mentor of this team. Gambhir was the mentor of Lucknow Super Giants in the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Under his mentorship, LSG had made it to the playoffs both times. Obviously Gambhir’s strategies have been very effective in IPL.
