Luthra Brothers, the main accused in the Goa Night Club fire case, will be brought to Delhi today. Giving this information, a Goa Police official said that both the brothers will be deported from Bangkok to India and will reach Delhi. A team of Goa Police is leaving for Delhi tonight.
Luthra Brothers will get custody from Delhi Airport
Goa Police is responsible for the arrest of Luthra Brothers, hence Goa Police will reach Delhi Airport and take Luthra Brothers into custody. Earlier the police was going to go to Thailand, but now the custody will be changed from Delhi itself and then Luthra Brothers will reach Goa by late night. As soon as he reaches Goa, he will be taken directly to Anjuna Police Station for further questioning.
Appearance of the accused on 17th December
It is reported that the accused are likely to be presented in Mapusa court on 17th December. In this matter, the Goa government has formed a special legal team for swift and effective action. Officers from the Law Department and Prosecution Department have been included in this team, so that strong advocacy can be done in the court. Police have registered the case under section 105 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS). There is a provision of punishment up to 10 years if found guilty in this section.
Thais flee after nightclub fire
Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra, co-owners of ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub in North Goa, fled to Phuket, Thailand soon after the fire incident. Goa Police had registered an FIR in the matter, in which both were charged under sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 125 (A) and (B) (endangering life) and 287 (negligence with fire or inflammable substance) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).
Interpol had issued a Blue Corner Notice against Luthra Brothers.
Goa Police had appealed to the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) through the Ministry of External Affairs and CBI for his arrest. After this Interpol had issued a Blue Corner Notice against him.
Luthra Brothers, their business partners, managers and some employees are residents of Delhi. Therefore, along with Goa Police, now Delhi Police is also investigating the fire case. A case has also been registered in Delhi.
