Rajkumar’s wife Praveena, who worked in a private tire factory, was brutally murdered by slitting her throat. After the incident, Rajkumar told the police that some unknown people had attacked him and he was also injured.
However, in the initial investigation by the police itself, Rajkumar’s statements were found suspicious. When the police investigated in depth, the shocking truth came to light. Investigation revealed that Rajkumar, along with his sister-in-law Anandi, had conspired to murder his wife Praveena and for this, a gang of hired killers was prepared.
Wife becomes hindrance in illegal love affair
According to the police, Rajkumar and his sister-in-law Anandi had an illicit love affair for a long time. Both of them had already run away from home, after which the neighbors and the police had given them a strict warning. Praveena was becoming the biggest obstacle in this relationship. Apart from this, both of them were very angry when Praveena scolded and humiliated Anandi in front of the villagers recently. For this reason he decided to remove Praveena from the way.
Under the plan, Rajkumar made a deal with Anandi’s relative Deepak for Rs 2 lakh and prepared a group of hired killers. On the night of the incident, Rajkumar took his wife Praveena to a deserted area on a two-wheeler, saying that he had to go to work. Deepak and his associates, who were already hiding there, suddenly attacked Praveena and brutally slit her throat.
Drama of robbery, conspiracy revealed from call records
To make the murder look like a robbery, the accused also removed Praveena’s jewelery and caused minor injuries to Rajkumar, so that he could prove himself a victim. After this, Rajkumar told the police that unknown miscreants attacked him and killed his wife.
But Rajkumar’s constantly changing statements and behavior made the police suspicious. During the investigation, the police searched the records of mobile phone conversations between Rajkumar and Anandi, in which important clues related to the murder conspiracy were found. Besides, evidence of money given to hired killers also came to light.
On the basis of these strong evidences, the special police team arrested a total of seven accused including Rajkumar, his sister-in-law Anandi and five youths of the mercenary gang. Interrogation of all the accused is going on and they have been sent to judicial custody.
