Hearing on the sentencing of three convicts including Kashmiri separatist Asiya Andrabi postponed, arrested by NIA in 2018

The hearing scheduled for Saturday in the National Investigation Agency (NIA) court on the sentencing of Kashmiri separatist and Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DEM) chief Asiya Andrabi and two other people has been postponed. Now the sentence will be heard on February 2. NIA court has convicted Aasian Andrabi in the UAPA case. The NIA court has convicted Asiya Andrabi along with her two associates Sophie Fahmida and Nahida Nasreen.

The court has convicted Asiya Andrabi and her two associates under Section 18 (conspiracy) and Section 38 (offence of obtaining membership of a terrorist organization) of the UAPA. NIA had accused Asiya Andrabi of waging war against the country and running a terrorist organization. In 2018, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested Asiya Andrabi.

Andrabi is considered the first woman separatist leader

Asiya Andrabi is considered to be the first woman separatist leader of Kashmir. He formed an organization named Dukhtaran-e-Millat in 1987. This organization worked as the women’s wing of Hurriyat Conference. Its objective was to spread separatist ideas in Kashmir and to make women active in it. The Government of India had banned it. Pakistan’s notorious terrorist Hafiz Saeed also considers Asiya Andrabi as his close sister.

Suspicion of Andrabi’s organization being linked to Delhi Lala Qila blast

It was suspected that the accused involved in the blast at Red Fort in Delhi on November 10 may be linked to the Dukhtaran-e-Millat organization. Shahzada Akhtar, arrested in this case, is accused of trying to restart the women’s terrorist group Dukhtaran-e-Millat. Let us tell you that on November 10, many people lost their lives due to the blast in a car filled with explosives. The blast was so severe that the people affected were left in tatters.
