The deceased has been identified as Nagabhushanam, while his wife Jayamma has sustained serious burn injuries. The family members tried to convince him several times, but his mental condition was continuously deteriorating. On the day of the incident, there was a dispute between the two at home over some issue, after which, in anger and frustration, Nagabhushanam poured petrol on his wife Jayamma and set her on fire. As soon as the fire broke out, Jayamma got seriously burnt and there was screams in the house. Hearing the noise, people nearby immediately reached the spot and somehow tried to extinguish the fire. After this, Jayamma was immediately taken to the hospital, where she is undergoing treatment. According to doctors, his condition remains critical.
