Assam Pradesh Congress Committee has filed a complaint at Dispur Police Station on Tuesday (February 10, 2026) against the controversial AI-generated video of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Assam Congress has said in the complaint that the AI-video was posted by the official X handle of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Assam state, in which Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was allegedly shown pointing a gun at people of the minority community. However, it has been deleted later.
What allegations did Assam Congress make?
According to the APCC complaint, this inflammatory video was shared on Saturday (February 7, 2026) from the official X handle of BJP Assam Pradesh. The complaint said that the scenes shown in the video were provocative and clearly communal in nature. This complaint has been signed by Congress MLAs Diganta Burman and Shibamani Bora.
Along with this it was alleged that in the caption of the video, foreigner free Assam, no mercy, why didn’t you go to Pakistan? Many controversial comments like and no apology for Bangladeshis were also used. These comments were made with the intention of maliciously targeting the minority Muslim community of the state.
Video spread to instigate a particular community – APCC
Further, it was also said that the dissemination of such AI-generated videos to insult and incite a particular community could seriously affect the social harmony in the state and create an atmosphere of hatred and tension in the society.
Demand raised for arrest of Chief Minister
While registering the case at Dispur Police Station, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) Media and Communication Department Chairman Bedabrata Bora and State Coordinator Gopal Sharma were also present along with both the MLAs. After the FIR was registered, APCC demanded strict legal action in this case and also demanded the immediate arrest of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
