Mamata Banerjee has posted on X on CV Anand Bose’s decision to resign from the post of Governor.
Chief Minister Banerjee said in her post, ‘I am shocked and deeply troubled by the sudden news of the resignation of West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose. I don’t know the reasons behind his resignation yet. However, given the current situation, I would not be surprised if the Governor is put under pressure by the Union Home Minister for some political gain just before the upcoming state assembly elections.

Banerjee said that the Union Home Minister just told me that Shri RN Ravi is being made the Governor of West Bengal. He has not consulted me in this regard as is customary.
The Chief Minister said that such decisions weaken the spirit of the Constitution of India. Attacks the very foundation of our federal structure. The Center should respect the principles of cooperative federalism. One should avoid taking such unilateral decisions which undermine democratic practices and the dignity of states.
Dr. Anand Bose was made the Governor in the year 2022
Assembly elections are to be held in West Bengal this year. On 17 November 2022, Dr. Anand Bose was appointed the Governor of Bengal. Before him, the then Governor of Manipur, L.A. Ganesan was given additional charge. Bose was appointed to this post when Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was elected the Vice President of India.
