He said, ‘Out of the people stranded in Iran, 996 Indians have reached Armenia and 204 have reached Azerbaijan, where the Ministry of External Affairs is continuously helping them. Indian embassies in both the countries are continuously working with local authorities to ensure the safe return of citizens. He stressed that all necessary arrangements have been made to help the people evacuated in transit before being brought back to India and they are being helped.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently talking to leaders of countries around the world regarding the ongoing tension in the Middle East as well as other international developments. In this sequence, PM Modi has talked to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia on March 28, 2026. Both the leaders discussed the ongoing tension in West Asia and during this, PM Modi condemned the attacks on the energy infrastructure of the Gulf region.
