Bollywood actress Rasika Duggal gained a lot of fame with ‘Mirzapur’. She had many intimate scenes with Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the series. Rasika has recently spoken openly about this. The actress has told how intimate scenes were shot on the sets of ‘Mirzapur’. He told that there were intimacy directors for such scenes.
In a recent interview given to Bollywood Bubble, Rasika Duggal talked about intimate scenes. He said- ‘We now have an intimacy coordinator for intimate scenes and this is a very good change. I think it is great to have an intimacy coordinator on the set, just like there is a choreographer for dance and the action sequences are also choreographed. Similarly, there are intimacy coordinators for intimate scenes.
‘This is very technical…’
On the question of how intimate scenes are shot, Rasika said- ‘Just like there are different types of directors, similarly there are different types of intimacy directors who have their own way of working. But this is very technical. Like the workshops we did earlier, we did exercises to understand what was comfortable for the other person and what was not. There is someone to coordinate all this as to what is required for the scene, whether it is a close set or not and they call for a close set.
‘This part of your body will be shown…’
The actress further says – ‘These are all the basic things to make you feel comfortable and then the choreography is done in the same way as in your first rehearsal that the shot will start from here, this part of your body will be shown and whether you are comfortable with it or not and when you move with your co-actor, how will that movement be, all this is discussed and rehearsed very professionally and technically.’

Was Kulbhushan Kharbanda comfortable for intimate scenes with Rasika Duggal? On this question, the actress said- ‘There were no intimacy coordinators in Mirzapur Season 1. But this is the special thing about cinema, this scene was shot in such a way that when you go back and watch it, it has been shot in silhouette and technically. So it was not a big deal to do it and both of us are very professional.
