US President Donald Trump announced on Monday night that after talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the two countries have agreed to a trade deal. Trump said that the reciprocal tariff imposed on Indian goods will be reduced from 25% to 18%. India will also reduce its tariff and non-tariff barriers against America to zero. After Trump’s announcement, GIFT Nifty was seen trading at around 25,939 level, which was at a premium of about 797 points over the previous close of Nifty futures. This indicates that the Indian stock market indices may start with a gap-up today.
