Hyderabad Loot: Big loot in film style in Hyderabad! Miscreants took away Rs 1 crore by adding chilli powder

A robbery incident took place late night on Monday (16 March 2026) in the Kukatpally police station area of Medchal Malkangiri in Telangana, which seems to be directly similar to the script of a Bollywood thriller. Unidentified miscreants threw chilli powder in the eyes of two persons and looted cash worth Rs 1 crore from them and fled from the spot.

According to the police, two persons named Azamuddin and Kusruf, residents of Bahadurpura, were going from Bahadurpura towards Jeedimetla on a bike. As soon as he reached near Kukatpally ACP office, 4 unidentified assailants riding motorcycles surrounded him and suddenly threw chilli powder in his eyes. The miscreants worked in a very well-planned manner, first blinding the victim, then snatching the bag full of cash and immediately absconding. Even before the victims could understand anything, the miscreants had disappeared into the crowd.

Looting done through planning

Police suspect that the looted money may be linked to Hawala. This suspicion deepens because the question of why two common men were traveling on a bike at night with so much cash has become the center of investigation in itself. The police’s focus is on whether the attackers were already aware of this amount and its movement. If so, then this is not just an opportunistic robbery but a pre-planned incident based on inside information.

Police formed 4 special teams

As soon as information about the incident was received, the police have formed 4 special teams which are busy locating the accused. The CCTV footage is being scrutinized closely. Carrying out this incident right near the ACP office i.e. right under the nose of the police shows both the fearlessness of the miscreants and the depth of intelligence. This incident also underlines the increasing incidence of robberies using chilli powder in Hyderabad. Just a few days ago, in Karimnagar also, miscreants threw chilli powder at an RMP doctor and looted a gold chain and cash, in which five accused were arrested. Cheap, easily available and fast acting chilli powder is now becoming the favorite weapon of criminals.
