‘If China gives arms to Iran, we will impose 50% tariff’, Trump first threatened Beijing, then made this offer

After the failure of talks with Iran in Pakistan, US President Donald Trump has started issuing threats against Tehran on Sunday. Meanwhile, he has targeted China. Trump was reacting to intelligence reports which said that China was preparing to supply arms to Iran.

Speaking to Fox News, Trump said, ‘I doubt they will do it, but if we catch them doing it, they will be slapped with a 50% tariff, which is a huge amount.’ Let us tell you that China is going to visit China next month.

Trump got angry at China

The US President has given such threats to all countries, but especially to China. When asked about the CNN report, he also used strong words. It was said in that report that China is preparing to provide new air defense systems to Iran in the next few days.

However, Trump also made an offer to China during this period, in which he offered to sell crude oil to China, which can be done from the domestic market and from Venezuela. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro was arrested by the US by sending troops overnight and now a case is going on against him in New York.

Trump offered crude oil to China

Trump said, ‘China can send its ships to us. Venezuela has… we have a lot of spare production capacity and we will probably sell oil at a lower price than Iran.

What is the current tariff on China?

Most of the tariffs imposed by Trump against allied countries like India, Brazil and China to Canada have been canceled by the US Supreme Court, declaring them wrong from the point of law. Trump had increased the tariff on China to 125 percent. However, after negotiations it was reduced to 30 percent. After the order of the Supreme Court, the tariff has been reduced from 10 to 15 percent.

Beijing claims it helped broker the ceasefire agreement that led to the ceasefire between Iran and the US earlier this week. Trump is scheduled to visit China early next month for talks with President Xi Jinping.
