Impact of Middle East war, Air India, Indigo and Qatar Airways cut flights to Dubai, Abu Dhabi

The ongoing tension in the Middle East has once again taken a heavy toll on the travel of Indian travelers. Apart from Dubai and Abu Dhabi of United Arab Emirates (UAE), dozens of flights to Doha of Qatar have been canceled again on March 15.

What did IndiGo tell?

Indian airline IndiGo posted on social media platform X that due to the worsening situation in the Middle East, more restrictions have been imposed on flight operations in Dubai. The airline asked passengers to check the status of their flight before going to the airport.

Air India canceled flights on Delhi-Dubai route

Following instructions from UAE Airport Authority, Air India canceled 4 out of 5 flights on the Delhi-Dubai route. Now only one round trip will run. Air India Express also canceled 5 out of 6 flights on the Dubai route. All 5 Air India Express flights to Abu Dhabi have been cancelled. However, flights from Sharjah to Delhi, Mumbai, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur and Thiruvananthapuram will continue to operate.

Qatar’s airspace closed

Qatar Airways flights have also been suspended for the time being. Due to closure of Qatar’s airspace, there are no flights to Doha right now. The airline has said that operations will be resumed as soon as it receives approval from Qatar Civil Aviation Authority. In such a situation, if you have a flight to Dubai, Abu Dhabi or Doha, then before going to the airport, definitely check the flight status on the airline’s website or app.
