The Amicus Curiae appointed by the Supreme Court has made many shocking revelations regarding the health of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, who has been imprisoned in Pakistan’s Adiala Jail for the last 922 days. Amicus Curiae Barrister Salman Safdar, after meeting Imran Khan in jail for 2 hours on February 10, informed in the report presented in the Supreme Court that Imran Khan has lost 85% of the vision in his right eye. Imran Khan can see only 15 percent in his right eye.
It was told in the report that till October 2025, the vision of Imran Khan in both the eyes was 6/6, but later he started complaining of blurred vision and poor vision. At that time, the Pakistani government and Adiala jail administration did not give him proper treatment and due to this, Imran Khan suddenly lost all the vision in his right eye.
Seeing Imran Khan’s poor condition, he was somehow taken to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences on 20 February. Where after examination by the hospital doctor, ‘Right Central Retinal Vein Occlusion’ was diagnosed. Imran Khan was treated for 20 minutes but despite this, Imran Khan can now see only 15 percent of his right eye.
Imran’s eyes are watering again and again: Report claims
Amicus Curiae informed in the report that Imran Khan appeared clearly upset during the meeting. His eyes were watering again and again. He kept wiping his eyes with tissue again and again. The complete medical records of Imran Khan are not available with the Adiala Jail administration. He received a medical report dated 6 February 2026 from Imran Khan’s family, which was given to the family by the jail administration. In this, complete details of the treating specialist doctor were not recorded.
Imran Khan is lodged in Adiala jail since October 2023. He is being kept alone in the same cell for almost two years and four months. After waking up in the morning, Imran Khan has breakfast, reads the Quran and does exercise. Then Imran Khan is imprisoned in the jail cell from 5:30 pm to 10 am.
Imran’s cell room is very small: Report
After inspecting the jail cell in which Imran Khan has been kept, Amicus Curiae wrote in the report that the room in Imran Khan’s cell is very small. Only 8 feet long and 10 feet wide. This small room has a bed, chair, table, fan and blower heater and a 32-inch TV installed on the wall, but at the time of inspection it was not on and about 100 books were kept in the cell. A small toilet is built in the cell where Imran Khan lives. It doesn’t even have an exhaust system. Also, Imran Khan’s clothes are hanging on hangers on the wall and there is no cupboard and the condition of the chair is very bad.
Imran’s condition worsens in summer: Report
Information was given in the report that Imran Khan’s condition becomes very bad in summer. There is no fridge in the cell and only cool box is provided. Also, last summer, Imran Khan had food poisoning 2-3 times. Imran Khan faces the problem of extreme heat, humidity and mosquitoes in the summer season, there is a system of coolers and mosquito repellents but it is inadequate.
Salman Safdar said in a 7-page report that for the last five months, Imran Khan was not allowed to meet his lawyers and legal team. Many cases are pending against him at various stages. In such a situation, not allowing lawyers to meet is a violation of the right to a fair trial and is considered a serious issue and requires immediate judicial intervention.
He is not being given enough time to meet his wife also: Report
Apart from this, Imran Khan is being allowed to meet his wife Bushra Bibi, who is lodged in Adiala jail, once a week for 30 minutes. The jail administration is not allowing his sisters and relatives to meet him. In the year 2025, Imran Khan was allowed to talk to his sons Qasim and Suleman living in Britain only twice on telephone.
In the report, Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar, appointed by the Supreme Court of Pakistan, expressed satisfaction about the security of Imran Khan on the basis of his two-hour meeting, but expressed serious concerns regarding health, legal rights and not being able to contact the family and also made some recommendations.
Amicus Curia made this recommendation to the Supreme Court
Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar has recommended that in view of the deteriorating condition of Imran Khan’s eyes, an independent team of eye doctors should be constituted and an immediate investigation should be conducted. It has also been suggested that Imran Khan’s personal physicians Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yusuf should also be considered for inclusion in the investigation and treatment process. In the report, Amicus Curiae Salman Safdar claimed that any delay in the treatment of Imran Khan could prove to be a serious risk to his health.
In the report, the Amicus Curiae has also recommended to the Supreme Court that Imran Khan be allowed to meet and talk to his family, within the ambit of law and security protocols, so that his basic human rights can be protected.
Imran Khan’s son Qasim made these allegations
After the Amicus Curiae report, Qasim Khan, son of former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, posted on Instagram and alleged that Imran Khan was in these conditions due to being kept in jail for 922 days and not being treated properly.

According to Imran Khan’s son Qasim Khan, Pakistani Field Marshal Asim Munir and the puppet government of Pakistan are responsible for Imran Khan’s poor condition. Also, Imran’s son said that serious allegations have been made against him and his brother for not giving them visa to meet Imran Khan.
