‘INC = Islamabad National Congress’, Mani Shankar Aiyar advocated talks with Pakistan, BJP got angry

After the recent comments made regarding Operation Sindoor, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has opened its front against Congress. Actually, this controversy started after a video of former minister and senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar surfaced. In the video, Mani Shankar Aiyar is seen advising the BJP government at the Center that now India should completely end Operation Sindoor and after this operation, talks should be held with Pakistan to reduce tension.

This comment made by the Congress leader has been strongly criticized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP has alleged that the Congress party always maintains a soft stance towards Pakistan.

BJP strongly criticized Mani Shankar Aiyar’s remarks

Reacting sharply to Mani Shankar Aiyar’s video, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala accused Congress of taking Pakistan’s side and claimed that Congress weakens India’s stand against terrorism.

Poonawalla alleged that Congress always gives clean chit to Pakistan and refrains from taking strict action against terrorism. Making fun of the party, he said that INC means Islamabad National Congress. Apart from this, he also raised questions on the party’s commitment to national security.

BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala shared a post with the Congress leader’s video on social media platform X on Sunday (January 11, 2026). In the post, Poonawala said, ‘Manishankar Aiyar says that India should do Operation Sindoor. Uninterrupted talks should be started with Pakistan. INC stands for Islamabad National Congress. They always give clean chit to Pakistan and advocate not taking any action against Pakistan for spreading terrorism. He said, ‘Insult the identity of Congress, Pakistan my brother and the army.’

At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has also accused the Congress Party of insulting the Indian security forces by questioning the military operations after the action against terrorism and adopting a soft stance towards Pakistan.
