‘Inciting GenZ on the lines of Nepal-Bangladesh…’, hearing in SC in Sonam Wangchuk arrest case, what did Solicitor General Mehta tell the court?

In the Sonam Wangchuk case, the Center and Ladakh administration shared information in the Supreme Court. He told that jailed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had tried to instigate GenZ for her movement. This effort was made exactly on the lines of Bangladesh and Nepal. Giving information in the court, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that Wangchuk had also mentioned the Arab Spring movement. This information was given before the bench of Justice Arvind Kumar and Justice PV Varale.

He told in the court that the governments of many countries had fallen due to such movements. He used Mahatma Gandhi’s speech to hide his real intentions.

Hearing going on on the petition of Sonam Wangchuk’s wife

Gandhiji never instigated against his country. Let us tell you, Wangchuk is currently lodged in Jodhpur Central Jail. Senior lawyer Kapil Sibal is appearing on behalf of his wife.
