South Africa, playing first in the third T20 match, scored 117 runs. This match is being played at Dharamshala Stadium, in which Team India won the toss and chose to bowl first. In bowling for India, Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakraborty made the South African batsmen crave for runs and also took two wickets each. ‘Birthday boy’ Kuldeep Yadav also took 2 wickets.
The Indian team’s decision to bowl after winning the toss has proved correct so far. Only 3 out of 11 South African batsmen were able to reach double figures in terms of runs. Aiden Markram scored 61 runs, Donovan Ferreira contributed 20 runs and Anrich Nortje contributed 12 runs. Apart from him, no other batsman could even touch the 10-run mark.
South Africa is in trouble
Arshdeep Singh dismissed Reeza Hendricks in the very first over of the innings. In the very next over, Harshit Rana did not even allow Quinton de Kock to open his account. De Kock is coming after playing an inning of 90 runs in the last match. Harshit Rana also dismissed Dewald Brevis in his next over. South Africa had lost three wickets till the score was 7. Tristan Stubbs and Corbin Bosch were also out early, but captain Aiden Markram was holding one end. Markram scored 61 runs in 46 balls.
Indian bowlers wreak havoc in Dharamshala
Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana together destroyed South Africa’s top order. In the middle overs, Varun Chakraborty troubled the African batsmen, taking two wickets for only 11 runs in 4 overs. Chakravarthy has joined the bowlers who have completed 50 wickets in the fewest number of balls in the history of T20 cricket. Only Kuldeep Yadav, Ajanta Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga are ahead of him in this list.
Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana took two wickets each, while Chakraborty and Kuldeep also took two wickets each. ‘Birthday boy’ Kuldeep Yadav bowled only 2 overs in the match, in which he took two wickets.
