Now Congress has hit back at this and called it a failure of the government’s diplomacy.

On the signing of the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on behalf of the Indian government, he said, ‘The government’s diplomacy has failed, when they started being criticized, they later went to the condolence meeting, whereas the Congress had already made its stand clear.’

Misri visited the Iran Embassy in New Delhi on Thursday (March 5) to sign a condolence book and pay tribute to Iran’s late supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Khamenei died on 28 February

It is noteworthy that Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed on February 28 in a joint American-Israeli military operation. This campaign was named ‘Operation Epic Fury’. After Khamenei’s death, 40 days of mourning was announced in Iran. US President Donald Trump had announced his killing on his social media platforms, after which Iran’s state media also confirmed it.

The funeral ceremony was postponed

At the same time, Khamenei has not been laid to rest yet, the mourning ceremony was postponed at the last moment. Officially it is being said that preparations are going on in this regard but questions are being raised regarding the cremation not taking place till now. Arrangements are being made to keep his mortal remains in the Grand Mosalla of Tehran. This is the same place where big religious and national events take place. It is noteworthy that Khamenei was a major religious and political face of Iran.
